I guess it serves me right for newbie bashing, but this guy didn't make a SINGLE mistake, and I approached him like he was new! He told me after I had already lost that he was a returning player. I lost 8 battle points. Wah.

But I have told Mog many times in the past not to battle newbies for this exact reason.
