| Posted : Wednesday, September 30, 2015 - 12:58 Ah, the marketplace. Well, the building still exists and is only really necessary for the Government and Empire income techs and can be torn down after they are researched. It is sometimes useful as a wall.
The "open market" where one could buy or sell resources is long gone. Resource buildings now only give tribute (except goldmines, of course), but tribute is a factor in determining winners and losers, so it has an importance. Castles give tribute. Taking piles of resources does too.
