In war, the one who doesn't lose courage and is willing to endure is often surprised by turns of events. It may look bad, but you never know, your opponent may just go inactive. I have been near giving up when something changed, many times. I guess I'm encouraging hope.

Things take an interesting turn, to be sure. I don't understand retirement because I always keep fighting until there isn't a damn thing I can do. It makes the game more FUN if you don't quit.

My post somewhere about just hanging in there is looking more and more true and pertinent. I was in a hopeless position twice already in this game, if not more, and I'm still in the game, albeit perhaps not for a much longer time!
