Ya i noticed.. give it another day before we call in the cavalry. I think 9 players is just a glitch because it is just because it is a private game. Usually one doesn't invite more people than the aloted slots so this one is probably an ancient glitch no one ever noticed.

How many of the players were shown in bold at the time?

If a player joins his/her limit of ames before another one they are queued for starts there could be an over subscription on a game due to players not being "available".

no it disappeared, maybe timed out.

oops yes it did it was another game that disappeared. It took a while for this to start though, finally I jumped out and rejoined and that kicked it in gear, started right away.

I've noticed this happen before, it seems if a few players have joined but weren't showing in bold the queue would take more players than required. Then when those players not showing bold got membership or their game ended opening up a slot, then they turned bold in the queue on the next hour, showing 9 ready for an 8 player game.

yes, the only way a game would start was part of the join-queue process. so even if players came back or had a slot open, the game wouldnt auto-start.

i've just updated the system to remove the max-campaign slots (you can join/play as many as you like), and games will try to start automatically every day incase players are inactive and then come back again.
