| Posted : Saturday, January 30, 2010 - 20:43 Was it any time used for transport? For the forum to think about: If its made mostly of metal and it doesn't have moving parts anymore (so at some time it did have moving parts), I would assume 1 of 3 things its either broken/welded together or rusted together. So maybe a relic on the bottom of the ocean,or something in a museum, maybe a historic clock that doesn't work any more etc Just my initial thoughts. |

| Posted : Sunday, January 31, 2010 - 14:03 does that mean the item itself is over 100 years old or that this specific type of transport is not over 100 years in use? |

| Posted : Sunday, January 31, 2010 - 18:44 lies on the bottom of the ocean... lol.. well it "was" used in flight. The wright brothers did their thing about 1903 i think which makes that particular one over 100 years old. Balloons are a good alternative except they don't use a while lot of metal save for the gas burner and I'd consider it to have moving parts. No modern means of flight lacks moving parts but I supposed thats why mog said used in flight. It is probably a mechanism used to aid flight.
Probably not an instrument but for all we know it could be a lunch tray used on an air line in the 1930's. |
