You contradict this in the next paragraphs where you say he can move somewhere.
Also, spell commandeers correctly where it appears.
The final image isn't loading for me, not sure if this a problem for others.
This is a very good tutorial! I congratulate you, Sage, on your initiative.

The last image loads for me...is anyone else having a problem? Last Edited : Monday, December 19, 2005 - 21:58 | lord sirus Joined 10/20/2005 Posts : 485

| Posted : Tuesday, December 20, 2005 - 16:02 Sage in your quiz to review there is a slight dicrepancy.
There are 3 enemy units preventing movement to hex 1. Not mentioning the archers would get some players thinking that they don't have an affect on ZOC. | | Sage DoCJoined 11/8/2002 Posts : 4070
| Posted : Tuesday, December 20, 2005 - 17:34 I thought about that, but I figured adding more numbers into the mix would confuse people. The jist of it is you can't move from 1 to 2. Moving from 1 to 3 is basically just moving from 1 to 2+1
In reality, the archers DON'T have an affect on ZoC...not really. They could disappear completely and the scout still would be unable to move there.
I'll consider changing it, though I think it would just make it more confusing. | | Ghengis Khan Joined 3/24/2003 Posts : 1158
| Posted : Tuesday, December 20, 2005 - 19:21 I mentioned it more for the fact that somebody would report a bug someday, that the archers are causing ZOC.
You could also take away the spearmen and they still couldn't move to that spot. | | Sage DoCJoined 11/8/2002 Posts : 4070
| Posted : Tuesday, December 20, 2005 - 19:50 Ghengis, anybody reporting that bug obviously wouldn't understand ZoC. My tutorial makes it clear, does it not, that moving from a hex next to one enemy to a hex next to two is not allowed? Anybody who understands that concept won't be confused. The archer, in that situation, has no effect on ZoC.
However, I suppose it's hoping for too much to expect everyone who reads the tutorial to be intelligent. I've edited the photos and deleted the archer from them. Now there will be no confusion | | ShadowSerenity Joined 12/17/2005 Posts : 19

| Posted : Thursday, December 22, 2005 - 06:36 I'll put a link to it on the existing sticky. I've tried to be sparing in my use of stickies and I still get complaints when I make one. So I'll add to the existing ones. | | Raptor Joined 8/15/2001 Posts : 3742

| Posted : Friday, December 30, 2005 - 18:29 Also here if you are in a 1-1 situation and wanting to move to a 1-2 situation and have enough move points you can initially move to a 1-0 spot and then move to the 1-2 spot. If this makes sense. | | MacWar Joined 1/5/2005 Posts : 44
| Posted : Sunday, January 22, 2006 - 11:11 I am not entirely clear, some of the comments seem to suggest that units like comms and range (archers, etc.) do not effect ZOC. Is that correct? | | Sage DoCJoined 11/8/2002 Posts : 4070
| Posted : Sunday, January 22, 2006 - 11:15 Not at all. ALL units affect ZoC.
Would you mind pointing out which parts confused you? I'd like to make it more clear. | |
